Describe yourself in 3 words.
God fearing, hardworking and ambitious.
What was your 1st thought when you woke up this morning?
I can’t wait to learn something new today 🙂
Tell us about being an accountant.
Mathematics, calculation and reconciliations. Debit here, credit there until it all balances like it should. Good thing we have technology now, it has made it easier.
What made you leave your accounts job?
When you’re working for someone else you realize their dream and it was about time I started realizing my own dream.
How did you discover your passion for handmade decor?
When I was little I was always handy with stuff. I helped where and when I could. I loved drawing at first but then the images never got real so I started making small things using anything I saw around me. Last year during the transition I realized I could follow my passion and make money out of it at the same time.
How has the transition been?
In one word, AMAZING. I really didn’t know how far I could go with this until I started.
When have you been most satisfied in your life?
When I made my first item. It was a total disaster but I loved the feeling of wanting to learn how it’s done.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of being self-employed?
Advantages: Being my own boss and reaping from the work of my hands.
Disadvantages: Compromises you have to make as most of your time is work time including when you are at home.
Who is your inspiration?
I have so many but for my line of work it’s got to be Diamoreds. His work is just mind boggling.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
If am not doing research to acquire new ideas, am catching up with a friend or watching my favorite TV series.
If you were stranded in a desert island, what three things would you have and why?
Depends if the Island is inhabited or not. If it isn’t then I would only carry my phone for communication with the outside world (it would get boring being on an island alone), a phone charger or power bank and a boat to get me off the island. If it’s inhabited then I would only need a camera to capture the good moments, a language guide book if the inhabitants speak a different language and a knife (you never know when it will come in handy).
Are you a bathroom singer?
Oh yes, not only am I a singer but a dancer too especially when there is music playing in the background. However not at all times but as soon as I realize it, I hum to the first song that comes to mind. I mean this is the only place I have no judges or audience for my horrible voice.
If you could have only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Is it a 3 course meal? I find this question very hard to answer since I have 4 things I can leave on 24/7 and never get bored ; Oranges, anything made from Blueberries, chicken and milk.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
I see myself being the best in the events industry and with a dedicated team that will always strive to fulfill my vision.
Advice to anyone who wants to follow their passion?
Go for it no matter what it is, people only need to see it to believe in it and in you.
